iPhone SE 4 won't be released in 2024
Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O'Malley, who spoke with supply chain companies in Asia, say Apple no longer plans to launch a fourth-generation iPhone SE in 2024 . In the analysts' note, it is stated that the iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a 5G modem designed by Apple, but these plans have been delayed.
Apple has been working on its own modem since 2018, and it's no secret. The firm bought Intel's modem division for a billion dollars in 2019 to support its plans. However, analysts state that Apple's modem is not ready yet, so Qualcomm may remain as Apple's modem supplier for both the iPhone SE and iPhone 16 series over the next year.
In February, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the iPhone SE 4 will have a similar design to the standard iPhone 14, and suggested that the device will feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID , and flat, curve-free edges . Kuo and many other sources don't expect the next iPhone SE to launch until 2025, so the current model will remain the only option. Launched in March 2022, the third-generation iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch LCD display, Touch ID, 5G, 12-megapixel rear camera and A15 Bionic chip.
